Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-22
Avorio is a product of Cognifer Labs (an Arizona LLC, trading as Avorio). This page explains how refunds work depending on where you bought your subscription or token top-up. We try to make this as simple as possible — if anything is unclear, just email us.
1. Where you bought it determines who refunds it
This is the single most important thing to know. Avorio is sold through three different storefronts, and refund handling depends on which one processed your payment:
- Apple App Store / In-App Purchase (iOS and macOS apps) — refunds are handled by Apple.
- Google Play Billing (Android app) — refunds are handled by Google.
- Stripe Checkout (purchases made directly on avorio.ai) — refunds are handled by us.
Why the split? Apple and Google hold the funds from your purchase until they pay us out on a delayed schedule — by the time we see the revenue, the transaction has already cleared their systems. We literally cannot issue a refund on a payment we never directly received. That's why purchases on iOS / macOS / Android have to go through the platform that took the payment. For anything bought on the website, we handle it ourselves through Stripe.
2. Refunds for purchases on the website (Stripe)
Monthly subscriptions — case-by-case
Digital subscriptions are generally non-refundable once activated. If you believe your purchase was made in error, was unused, or you have another good reason, email contactdharsan@gmail.com with the email address used at purchase or your Stripe receipt and we'll review it. Refunds are at our discretion, not guaranteed, but we try to be reasonable. EU/UK consumers retain the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal described below.
Cancellation vs. refund
You can stop auto-renewal at any time by emailing us at contactdharsan@gmail.com (processed within two business days) — you won't be billed again next cycle, and you keep full access until the current period ends. Cancellation does not automatically trigger a refund for the current month.
Token top-ups (consumables) — non-refundable once delivered
One-time token top-ups are non-refundable once they've been credited to your account, because they're consumed instantly against AI usage we pay for upfront. Exception: if a top-up wasn't credited due to a bug on our end, email us and we'll either credit the tokens or refund the purchase — your choice.
Annual plans
We don't currently sell annual plans, but when we do, refunds will be prorated for unused months minus a small processing fee. This section will be updated when annual billing launches.
How to request a Stripe refund
Email contactdharsan@gmail.com with your Stripe receipt or the email used at purchase. We respond within 2 business days.
3. Refunds for Apple App Store / IAPs (iOS, macOS)
Apple handles these directly. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, find the Avorio purchase, choose “Request a refund,” and pick a reason.
We have no visibility into or control over Apple's decision. In our experience, Apple typically grants refunds within around 48 hours, especially for accidental purchases or purchases under 14 days old.
To cancel auto-renewal (so you aren't billed again next cycle): Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Avorio → Cancel.
Apple's refund policy is governed by their own terms. We publish their process here for convenience only — it can change without notice on their side.
4. Refunds for Google Play (Android)
Google handles these directly. Visit play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory, find the Avorio purchase, and tap “Request refund.”
Google's standard policy is that subscriptions are auto-refundable within 48 hours of the first purchase. After that, refunds are decided case-by-case.
To cancel auto-renewal: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Avorio → Cancel.
5. Failed renewals and accidental charges
If a renewal charge is unexpected — a card you didn't intend to leave on file, a charge to a deceased family member's account, a renewal you'd already cancelled but were still billed for — contact contactdharsan@gmail.com and we'll work with the relevant payment processor (Apple, Google, or Stripe) to make it right.
6. Disputed charges (chargebacks)
If you dispute a charge with your bank without contacting us first, your Avorio account will be suspended until the dispute is resolved. This is standard practice — chargebacks are expensive and slow for everyone, including you.
Please email contactdharsan@gmail.com first. We resolve most billing issues in under 24 hours, and a refund from us hits your account much faster than a chargeback ever would.
7. Refund timelines
Once a refund is approved, here's roughly how long it takes to show up on your statement:
- Stripe refunds: 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
- Apple refunds: 3–10 business days after Apple approves.
- Google refunds: 1–4 business days after Google approves.
8. What we don't refund
- Token usage already consumed. If you've used your monthly token allotment, that portion is not refundable — the underlying AI cost has already been billed to us.
- Subscriptions cancelled mid-month. You keep access until the end of the billing period, but we don't issue prorated refunds for unused days.
- Purchases more than 30 days old, unless legally required (see the EU / UK section below).
9. EU and UK consumer rights
If you're in the EU or UK, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts under EU Directive 2011/83/EU (and the equivalent UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013).
To exercise this right, email contactdharsan@gmail.com within 14 days of your purchase.
Important caveat: Avorio's AI features are digital content that we begin supplying immediately on purchase. Under Article 16(m) of the Directive, using those AI features can waive your withdrawal right. We'll explain how this applies in your specific case when you contact us — we don't apply it automatically, and we err on the side of refunding.
10. California consumers
Under California's Automatic Renewal Law, you have the right to cancel subscriptions easily. App Store and Google Play subscriptions are cancelled through your Apple or Google account; web (Stripe) subscriptions are cancelled by emailing us at contactdharsan@gmail.com, which we process within two business days. We will never require a phone call, in-person visit, or any other friction to cancel.
11. Contact
For refund requests, email contactdharsan@gmail.com. Please include the email address used at purchase and the approximate transaction date — that's usually all we need to find your order.
For anything else — general questions, bug reports, partnerships — contactdharsan@gmail.com.
